Innovation – The Cure to Negative News

I am an optimist.  I am also lucky enough to be on the leading edge of integrating technology with processes – specifically government contracting processes.  I have the resources around me to be able to dream up helpful ideas and potentially make them a reality.  Then I come to this blog and look for something interesting to write about in the government and my optimism sinks.

Have you taken a look at the headlines lately?!

“…budget cuts…”  “…elusive…”  “…crack down…”  “…may cripple industry…”

Needless to say, the headlines don’t paint a good picture – and that isn’t even mentioning the death of world leaders, occupying of Wall Street, and tabloid news items.  So, what can we do about it as government contract professionals?

I have mentioned many times that it really takes an effort to cut down spending – the accountant in me keeps track of every penny.  At the same time, it is easy to think of what may need to be done – harder to actually do it

That being said, I invite you – the reader and potential front-line contract administrator – to let me know what your pain is?  What could I do to make your life better?  Is there something – a task, a report, a process – that could be done easier or better with a little help?  I may be able to solve it.

NOTE:  My boss reads this sometimes too, so I will be held accountable to follow-up on the ideas.
